You can book a service by visiting our website’s contact page, calling us directly, or dropping by during business hours. Please take note that we work on an 'appointment only' basis and will not be able to facilitate instruments that turn up without prior notice.

CAN YOU ADJUST MY GUITAR ACTION?
Yes, action adjustments are part of our 'set up' service.

WHAT IS THE TURNAROUND PERIOD FOR REPAIRS?
Turnaround time varies depending on the type of repair and our current workload. Simple repairs like restringing can be done on the same day, while more complex repairs may take a few days to a week. We will of course keep you updated via email or phone if there are going to be any delays, (this is unlikely) but we will make you aware if something does occur.
CAN I CHOOSE THE TYPE OF STRINGS WITH YOUR RESTRING SERVICE?
Absolutely! We offer a variety of string brands and gauges. Let us know your preference, and we’ll make sure to use the strings you like. We are always on hand to discuss string types, gauges and brands. We will provide you with advise on what would work best for your playstyle and preference.
DO YOU OFFER EMERGENCY AND OR RUSH SERVICE?
Yes, we do offer rush services for an additional fee. Please contact us for availability and scheduling.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments such as PayPal and Apple Pay. An invoice will always be provided before the commencement of work which can be paid via card or cash upon collection if desired.
CAN YOU PROVIDE AN ASSESSMENT ON MY INSTRUMENT?
Yes, we offer FREE assessments on all guitars; evaluating your instrument for any repair or maintenance work required.

CAN YOU REPAIR ELECTRICAL ISSUES ON MY ELECTRIC GUITAR?
Absolutely! We can diagnose and fix most electrical problems, such as faulty pickups, crackling output jacks, loose switches, or broken wiring. Whether it’s a soldering job, replacing components, or installing upgrades, we’ll get your guitar’s electronics working perfectly again. Let us know the specific issue, and we’ll handle the rest.

CAN YOU REPAIR A BROKEN NECK AND OR HEADSTOCK?
Yes, a broken neck or headstock can often be repaired. The process typically involves carefully aligning the broken pieces, using strong wood glue or epoxy, and clamping it until it sets. For added strength, we may reinforce the repair with splines or dowels, depending on the severity of the damage. Once the repair is complete, we refinish the area to blend it seamlessly. In most cases, a properly repaired neck or headstock will be as strong as it was before the break.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY GUITAR NEEDS A SET UP?
Your guitar likely needs a setup if:
The strings feel too high or too low (action issues).
It doesn’t stay in tune, even after tuning it properly.
You hear fret buzz when playing.
Intonation is off, meaning the guitar sounds out of tune as you play up the neck.
The guitar just doesn’t feel comfortable to play anymore.
A setup involves adjusting the truss rod, bridge, nut, and action, and ensures your guitar plays and sounds its best.

HOW MANY WORKSHOPS DO YOU HAVE?
We have 2 workshops. Our Southampton premises offers guitar set ups and repairs. Whereas our Hythe premises deals with amplifier side of our services.

CAN I SHIP MY GUITAR TO YOU FOR REPAIR?
Yes, guitars can be sent to us via shipping. You as the customer will need to cover ALL shipping costs. It is important that you make us aware before sending your guitar to us.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY FRETS NEED LEVELLING OR CROWNING?
Signs include uneven frets, buzzing, or dead spots.
​CAN YOU FIX A TWISTED OR WARPED GUITAR NECK?
Minor warps can be corrected with a truss rod adjustment; severe cases may need heat treatment or a new neck.
MY GUITAR NECK IS CRACKED. CAN IT BE REPAIRED?
Yes, most cracks can be glued and reinforced.

CAN YOU INSTALL A NEW WIRING HARNESS?
Yes, we offer complete rewiring services.

CAN YOU INSTALL A NEW PICKGUARD?
Yes, we can fit a new pickguard.

DO YOU INSTALL STRAP LOCKS?
Yes, we install and offer a wide range of strap locks for your instrument.

CAN YOU FIT A BIGSBY AND OR A FLOYD ROSE TREMOLO SYSTEM?
Yes, we are able to install either a bigsby or floyd rose trem system.

CAN YOU FIX SCRATCHY VOLUME/TONE POTENTIOMETERS?
Yes, we can take care of your scratchy pots, either with a repair or replacement.

DO YOU APPLY COPPER SHIELDING?
Yes, we stock and apply copper shielding to your guitar to avoid unwanted disruption.

DO YOU BUY USED MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS?
Yes, I buy a range of intruments.

We do not offer any refunds on services which have been carried out by Ryan Pearce Guitars & Basses. Clients are given the opportunity to inspect their instruments before leaving our workshop. Ryan Pearce Guitars & Basses will always perform the necessary work to ensure you are happy with your repair.
We cannot accept any responsibility for further damage made to your instrument If you fail to provide adequate protection for your instrument with a case/gig bag. Of course we will take care whilst your instrument is present in our workshop.
