Whether it’s worth repairing a guitar depends on a few key factors: the value of the instrument, its sentimental importance, and the cost of the repair.

In many cases, even budget guitars benefit greatly from a proper setup or minor repair. Improving playability can make practice more enjoyable and help prevent bad technique.

Higher-quality or vintage guitars are almost always worth repairing, as professional work can preserve or even increase their value.

If a guitar has personal meaning — a gift, a first instrument, or something you’ve owned for years — repair is often worth it regardless of resale value.
