As the morning arrives, with coffee in hand we are onto our next project. Currently working on this Chinese made 'Gibson'.

The old nut looked as though someone had just thrown it into place and dressed it down with a chainsaw. So that was our first port of call, a new bone nut.

After that, we lemon oiled the fingerboard and polished out the fretwork. We popped on a new set of Ernie Ball Slinkys (10 - 46) and then installed a set of volume and tone knobs, as the existing set were cheap and nasty. Shout out to 'Guitar Anatomy' for supplying us with a Gibson style set.

Action wise, we were at a sorry 4mm, which far exceeds where the string height needs to be. We adjusted the truss rod, for a small amount of relief and brought the string height down to a respectable 1.25mm which is optimal for most (if not all) electric string instruments.

Followed up lastly with a touch up of the Nut, dropping the string heights at the first fret to 10 thousandth of an inch. Which again is optimal and essential for playability and comfort.

Lastly, intonation adjustment and final checks. Adjusting each string to correlate with the fingerboard. Cleaned the guitar up and double checked our measurements.

Now back with our client.
